Sherry Dew
Sherry Dew has been a valued member of the Murrieta Valley Unified School District since July 2019. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Delaware and a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. In addition, she earned her Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Social Work and Child Welfare and Attendance from San Jose State University and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both California and Florida.
Before joining MVUSD, Mrs. Dew served as the Executive Director of A Forever Bond Adoption Agency, Inc., and as the Administrator of HUGS Foster Family Agency—both licensed child placement agencies dedicated to adoption and foster care services. She also contributed to the academic development of future social workers as a Field Instructor for the University of Central Florida’s School of Social Work.
With over two decades of experience as a social worker and mental health provider, Mrs. Dew is known for her ability to build strong therapeutic relationships, connect families with vital community resources, and provide meaningful psychoeducation to students, families, and colleagues.
At Murrieta Canyon Academy, she works closely with the administrative and counseling teams to foster student resilience and growth, supporting their academic, social, and emotional success. Mrs. Dew is deeply committed to creating systems of support for all students and is grateful to be part of the Murrieta Canyon Academy family.
